The term “black” typically refers to the darker appearance and often to a more intense flavour impression compared with lighter honey styles. In practice, black honey coffee is less about a strict single recipe and more about a processing approach that preserves sweetness while allowing deeper development during drying.

Because honey processing sits between washed and fully natural styles, it can produce a cup that feels structured, not hollow. Many tasters notice a balance of syrupy sweetness and clean clarity, especially when the roast level is chosen thoughtfully.
